Paul Bartleson

Construction Safety and Risk Management

Paul Bartleson has more than 30 years of experience in occupational safety and health, the majority of it within the construction industry. He began his career with the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin and has spent the past 25 years in a senior leadership role for a large, well-respected commercial general contractor in the Midwest. During this time, he has trained thousands of tradespeople and conducted hundreds of jobsite audits annually.

His technical background includes fall protection, steel and precast erection, crane management, trenching and excavation, masonry operations, scaffolding, ladders, rigging, and power and hand-tool safety. He is also highly qualified in accident investigation and in managing the OSHA inspection process.Paul has been active nationally with the Associated General Contractors of America and the National Safety Council Construction Division (Past Chair). Regionally, he has been involved with ABC of Wisconsin, Badgerland ASSP, and the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin, where he currently serves as Chair of the Chapter Safety Committee. He also helped establish the Madison Area Construction Safety Professionals Association, and is an OSHA authorized outreach trainer.

Bob McCall has over 35 years of extensive experience in construction safety including roles with general contractors, specialty subcontractors, and construction employer associations. Throughout his career, he has managed safety at the jobsite and corporate levels. He has broad expertise in nearly every facet
of construction safety including fall prevention, trenching and excavation safety, scaffolding, ladders, and personal protective equipment. He guides construction employers in establishing productive safety and health audits, developing functional safety and health programs, conducting beneficial accident investigations, and creating effective safety training programs.

Bob has held leadership positions with many national construction industry associations, including The National Safety Council, The Associated General Contractors of America, and The Association of Union Constructors.

Joe previously was Vice President, Environment, Health and Safety for Ingersoll Rand Corporation, a global diversified industrial manufacturer. Prior to that, Joe was with Eaton and Baxter International where he served as Vice President, EHS. He has also held a variety of EHS leadership positions with Monsanto Company and OSHA.

Joe specializes in occupational health/industrial hygiene, combustible dust issues, EHS management systems and risk assessment and EHS audit systems. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist and Certified Safety Professional.

Luke Contos

Luke previously was a Director, Environment, Health and Safety for TRW Automotive, a global 17B diversified, Tier 1 Supplier, and for several other global automotive suppliers.  He has developed, implemented, and trained on safety programs for everything from heavy industry (foundries, steel), to manufacturing (machining and assembly), to next generation (autonomous vehicle facilities).  He has not only worked throughout NA, but extensively in SA and Asia as well.

Luke has a diverse EHS expertise base from safety program development, EHS management systems, risk assessment, and EHS audit systems.  Luke assists clients in creating efficient and effective safety programs, especially in manufacturing environments and is also an instructor in chemical engineering.  He has built sustainability management systems that incorporate environmental, health and safety, and energy.

Sarah S. Pavlow D.M.D. has been in private practice as an Orthodontist since 2005 and is a highly regarded member of her local community. She specializes in guiding dental practices through the 5 steps to GHS compliance. She conducts Hazard Communication and Bloodborne Pathogen employee training sessions that are specific for the dental office, and she is focused on ensuring that dental workers are safe. Dr. Pavlow is an active member of both The American Dental Association and The American Association of Orthodontists.

Greg Zigulis

Greg Zigulis, MS, CSP, CIH, is an occupational safety and health consultant with more than 40 years of experience across construction, manufacturing, and other industrial sectors. A Certified Industrial Hygienist since 1990 and a Certified Safety Professional since 1991, Greg holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Michigan, an MBA from the University of Tennessee (1999), and a master’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health from the University of Central Missouri. His diverse background includes service as a U.S. Air Force Captain and leadership roles in construction management, disaster restoration, Department of Energy projects, gas engine and Tier 1 auto parts manufacturing, dental supply production, and metals and plastics manufacturing.

Greg specializes in organizational gap analyses, Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) development, safety program implementation, and industrial hygiene and risk management services. He is actively involved with the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), serving on the ANSI/ASSP Z10 Committee, the U.S. TAG for ISO TC283 (ISO 45001), and the ANSI/ASSP Z590.3 Prevention through Design Committee. He also serves as Administrator of ASSP’s Consultant Practice Specialty group and co-chairs its professional development subcommittee. Greg is the author of Health and Safety Programs in Small and Medium-sized Businesses: Setting Them Up and Making Them Work Effectively (Routledge, 2026) and has contributed to the Safety Professional’s Handbook (3rd edition) and multiple Professional Safety Journal articles on integrating occupational safety and health into business and leveraging new technologies for sustainable safety management systems.

Jeff Dierdorf

Jeff spent over 22 years at United States Steel, most recently leading their global safety and industrial hygiene organization for 13 years. Jeff also spent over 16 year at specialty steel producer Allegheny Ludlum leading their corporate-wide safety, industrial hygiene, medical, and workers’ compensation efforts. Jeff consults on safety and health leadership, HSE management systems and auditing, risk assessment and analysis, as well as industrial hygiene issues.

Jeff has held leadership roles on both national and international levels including serving as Chair of the American Iron and Steel Institute’s Occupational Health and Safety Committee from 2006 to 2009, and Chair of the World Steel Association’s Committee on Occupational Safety and Occupational Health from 2008 through 2011. Jeff has also served as a member of the Board of Delegates to the National Safety Council and the Board of Trustees of the Industrial Health
Foundation.

David Hoover

David is a nationally recognized expert on forklift and aerial lift training and has trained more than 10,000 operators and trainers in the safe operation of powered industrial trucks and aerial work platforms across the country.

David assists clients in conducting PIT and AWP safety audits, as well as developing operator and trainer training programs across the U.S. He also conducts forklift accident investigations and serves as an expert witness in forklift accident and injury litigation.

Rose retired Jan. 1, 2011 as Assistant Administrator and Chief Safety Officer of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in the U.S. Department of Transportation. In that role, she oversaw the implementation of CSA 2010, a new system for measuring the safety performance of motor carriers that is creating big changes in the industry.

Rose leads FDRsafety’s Transportation Safety Division along with Fred Rine, CEO of FDRsafety. In that role, she provides clients with insight into how to obtain good ratings in CSA 2010 measurements. Good scores are critical for motor carriers, since those scores drive DOT’s enforcement priorities.

Ms. McMurray is the former Assistant Administrator/Chief Safety Officer for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, as well as the chief driver behavior executive  for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. She is a road safety expert who oversaw the development and implementation of the Compliance, Safety , Accountability (CSA) enforcement scheme and is well positioned to help your organization address safety performance challenges including litigation cases affecting companies and their driver workforce.

Dave is a Certified Safety Professional and spent 50 years in the capacity of the Directory of Safety, Health and Environment in manufacturing, distribution, transportation and maritime industries. Dave also served as the Corporate Risk Manager in the pharmaceutical industry. He was a past president of the Middle Tennessee American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and recently retired as an OSHA Authorized General Industry Instructor at the Volunteer State OSHA Training Institute (OTI) Education Center in Gallatin, TN.  Dave provides OSHA 10- and 30-hours General Industry training, Forklift and Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPS) training, Competent Person Fall Protection Equipment Inspections and FDR’s 24/7 Safety Awareness Training.
